Cradle of Frozen Light

The iron grip of winter fastens over the High Tatras, locking the deep glacial waters of Morskie Oko beneath a sweeping expanse of solid alpine ice. Guarding this frozen amphitheater are massive, snow-choked granite monoliths whose jagged teeth catch the brilliant, golden flares of a hidden winter sunset. Low-slung storm clouds graze the highest ridges, introducing a sense of dynamic movement to an otherwise completely static, frozen landscape. Along the foreground shoreline, heavy pillows of pristine snow cloak the rounded river boulders, creating a stark, textured contrast against the deep blues and whites of the encroaching sub-zero freeze.
