The Highland Sentinel
High up on the windswept ridges bordering the great African rift, the air is thin, cool, and crisp. Here, far above the baking savannas below, the landscape transforms into an undulating meadow of alpine grasses and resilient, weathered trees. Standing as a lone beacon of elegance on this high frontier is a master of survival.
A majestic male Thompson's gazelle. His lyre-shaped horns rise sharply toward the sky, heavily ridged and perfectly symmetrical. A bold, striking dark stripe accents his warm fawn coat, cutting a sharp silhouette against the soft, rolling blues of the distant mountain peaks.
Sheltered beneath the gnarled branches of an ancient highland pine, he stands frozen in absolute alertness. His large, dark eyes scan the vast horizon, reading the subtle shifts of the mountain breeze. In this open country, vigilance is his only shield—a proud guardian of the high plains.
